Four German Proetten started on the LPGA Tour in Arizona – none made it into the weekend. At the top there is a trio of leaders.
At the LPGA Drive On Championship of the LPGA Tour, four German women were on the list of participants: Isi Gabsa, Esther Henseleit, Polly Mack and Aline Krauter. However, the quartet could not keep up with the pace of the opponents, which is why none of them made it into the weekend. A trio at the top and an albatross are the highlights at Superstition Mountain Golf Club so far.
Competition too strong for the German women
Isi Gabsa barely missed the cut line. After completing 36 holes, the German has a score of -2 and missed the weekend by one stroke. A 73 at the start and a 69 on Friday are quite impressive. In view of the performance of the competition this weekend, but still not enough.
The results were clearer for Esther Henseleit, Polly Mack and Aline Krauter. The former lost her chances for the weekend with a double bogey on the 13th and, despite a round under par (71), only has a score of +1 overall. Polly Mack only managed a score of three over par after 73 and 74 strokes, which also meant she missed the cut by a wide margin. At the end of her second round, Aline Krauter experienced a debacle on hole 18 and had to record a triple bogey. With a total of five over par, the native of Stuttgart ends the tournament in the lower part of the leaderboard.
Meanwhile, there are three women at the top of the tableau. Thailand’s Moriya Jutanugarn will be joined by Maddie Szeryk (Canada) and Jenny Shin (South Korea). With 12 under par they set the pace in Arizona and have the best starting position on Moving Day.
Albatross on the LPGA Tour
The shot of the day was recorded by the Japanese Yuka Saso on hole 2. From almost 200m, the Proette holed in with her second shot on the par 5 and immediately made up three shots. She had 66 strokes by the end of the round and is currently T15.
