The West is changing its attitude towards the problem of Kosovo and Metohija in a beneficial direction for Serbia, Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on March 26 in an interview with the Kurir newspaper.
With its strong argument, Serbia forced the West to put pressure on Pristina to form the Community of Serbian Municipalities, Dacic said.
“They are changing their attitude to the problem, which is good and useful for Serbia, we forced them to change their attitude to the problem, because we had a strong argument. This had an impact because Serbia, unlike the government in Pristina, was a serious and responsible negotiator all along. They look at us differently, respect for us is great, and therefore we are able to realize our interests, and this is the only thing that matters ,” Dacic said.
The decision to create a community of Serbian municipalities and normalize relations between Belgrade and Pristina was made on April 19, 2013. In Pristina, the SCM charter has not yet been developed, while Belgrade, according to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, has fulfilled its part of the said Brussels agreements.
