An incredible case was revealed by the successive thefts from businesses in Messolonghi as well, with the police officers of the security department handcuffing three people aged 35, 44 and 52, all citizens and residents of Albania.
The imported thieves were spotted inside a Mercedes Vito while moving on the 33rd kilometer of Antirio-Ioannina, at 23:30 on Friday night (24/3).
A little while earlier they had tried to steal animals from a stable at Bizani in Ano Nafpaktia. Burglary tools were found inside the vehicle. As part of the police investigation, it was found that the three men had removed on February 17, a calf worth 2,000 euros from a cow farm in Nafpaktos.
On March 8, 23 sacks of fertilizers, worth 700 euros, were stolen outside a store in Korakeika, Messolonghi.
At the same time, it was established that they are the perpetrators of the theft of 45 containers of oil worth 2,700 euros, a motorcycle worth 1,540 euros and 18 coils of twine worth 270 euros, from a warehouse in Amfilochia, between January 13 and 14. The police investigation shows that the Albanian thieves came to our country, stole and in a short time returned to Albania, where they sold the stolen products!
