On the Belarusian-Polish border in front of the only accessible checkpoint “Kukuryki” (“Kozlovichi”), the line of trucks has doubled since March 24 and now stands at 1,000 vehicles, the State Border Committee of Belarus said .
“The main reason is the failure of the Polish side to comply with bilateral agreements on the passage of trucks. So, over the weekend, the adjacent control services issued only 61% of trucks from the norm, ”the message says.
The queues of trucks were also reported by the Lithuanian border service. On the border with Belarus, at the Raigardas checkpoint, the queue reached about 5 km, at Medininkai – 8.5 km, at Lavorishkes – 7.7 km. Waiting times averaged 37 to 70 hours. The press secretary of the Lithuanian border service, Giedrius Mishutis, named the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border as the main reason for the multi-kilometer queues.
